I didn't realize that the "winner" had to move to Austin and that Brad supposedly made this clear. What does he do in Austin that is so important? Is he really trying to be a star? Wouldn't LA be more suitable?

Brad has said that he won't leave Austin because his business is there. He owns bars there and is a very successful business man (millionaire). He's not doing The Bach to break into show business as so many others are.

This is the information that I've read about. Don't know how much is true. It seems like Brad didn't want to face the scorn of Shawntel's father for taking her to Austin and not letting her take over the family business. Seems like the same goes for Emily and taking the child away from the grandparents and Ashley for taking her away from completing her education and starting a dental career.

That leaves Chantal IMO. Not that she's the best choice, but I think he's gonna do a process of elimination in that manner.

Wow, that's an interesting way to think about it. I'll add this: It looked like Chantel's parents' have a boatload of cash as their house was pretty sweet. So, if she comes from money, does it make it easier or harder for him? Is Chantel looking for a man so she can quit her menial job and sit home?

As for Ashley, she looks like she'd pick up and go anywhere. Once she finishes dental school she could practice anywhere.

So who goes home next?

Okay, good point. Chantal's essentially a secretary. Ashley's a dentist. Not to be a snob, but there's a big difference there.

Obviously, Chantal doesn't have work. She probably does it just to avoid being bored. Therefore, she might be more willing to relocate. Ashley has a higher education in a prestegious field. Ashley also hasn't finished her schooling. I'm gonna say he's going for Chantal for those reasons. Not who he's most in love with, but who's the best match.

So are you thinking Emily goes home next?

Turns out it's Ashley for just this reason. He didn't think she'd relocate. I was surprised he didn't dismiss Ashley earlier for just this reason. The girl's almost finished with dental school. Why give that up for a man when you're so young?

The two of them kept saying if we could just answer the questions. It wasn't that hard.

Brad: Will you move to Austin?
Ashley: Yes

Brad: Do you intend to work for a practice or set up your own?
Ashley: Work for a practice first

Brad: Will I come before your career?
Ashley: Yes

Brad: will you quit your job to have my kids?
Ashley: Yes

That was the simple exchange and the answers Brad was looking for. In the end, I think Ashley actually wanted out and is now relieved.
