Status: offline 		Wow, did she not want to be there last night. She barely clapped and smiling seemed painful. I missed the beginning. Did she even say a word? Attendance must be in the contract because it was the last place she wanted to be. Do you think she's upset with Brad? Or, she made herself look bad at the end?

Status: offline 		Attendence is in the contract. She didn't say a word. Lots of people are upset about that because she was great contestant - beautiful, intelligent, down to earth. I'm not convinced that she was the one who didn't want to speak. They didn't ask her anything and she didn't have a opinion on Michelle when the others were attacking her.

BTW, her Dad acted like he had no idea that Shawntel could possibly be moving away if chosen. You would have thought that would have been a discussion beforehand.

Status: offline 		They directed the hometown date. They told her and Brad, "Look, we gotta juice things up here. Shawntel, ask Brad to lay on the table. Brad, when she asks, do it. It'll be great for ratings." It's all scripted.

I thought about her father. Yeah, that could have been squared away before hand, but I kinda felt for the guy. If I started and then built up a successful business, I'd want to pass it along to my daughters. If either of my daughters wanted to give it all up to be a housewife to some man somewhere, I'd have reservations, too. I think that father was ufairly criticized.

Status: offline 		I understand that but as father, your children's happiness has to come first. That's a lot to lay on a 20 something that she needs to carry the family business. He laid quite a bit of guilt on her that the community needs her, that the succession plans are already in place, etc.etc.,

To your point though, he probably feels like he knows what's better for her long term.
