Vicki Truitt represents the District 98 of the House Of Representatives of the Texas Leislature. The Texas House of Representatives is the lower house of the Texas Legislature. The House comprises of 150 members from an equal amount of districts across the state, with each constituency consisting of nearly 140,000 people.
The Texas legislature has held 80 sessions so far. The Eightieth Texas Legislature met in regular session beginning 9 January 2007. All members of the House of Representatives and 16 members of the Senate were up for election on 7 November 2006 in the Texas Legislature election.
Vicki Truitt representing District 98, is the Chairman of Budget and Oversight for the House Committee on Public Health, and sits on the powerful Appropriations Committee. She is the Vice-Chairman and one of only five House members serving on the influential Sunset Advisory Commission. As the Vice-Chair, she leads Sunset activities in the House. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Texas Office for Prevention of Developmental Disabilities. The representative has a strong grass root support and is endorsed by federal, state and local officials alike.
