We're all aware of the games played online by kids today.  There are a lot of violence in it---killings, blood splattered everywhere, body parts flying---and you see these kids really having a grand time wanting to kill more in this kind of game. This has bothered a lot of well-meaning citizens that these games might turn our kids into killing-happy adults.

Do you think this line of thinking is reasonable?

REgulation should answer this concern.  We cannot say they are not existing because they are here conquering children and training them to become killers, so it seems.  I think parents, schools, and government should work together to regulate our children's exposure to these violent games.

I actually like violent games but it doesnt make me feel like I have the urge to kill. But then again I am old, in my mid 30's. That doesn't mean that violent games do cause bad behaviors in the youth. They could, I am not expert in this field relating to the behaviors of a child.

We recently ran into this issue with my son's Computer club (10, 11 and 12th graders).  Their fund-raiser is gaming tournaments, which included Halo, Gears of War, as well as other more docile games.  One member in Administration decided that they cannot play Halo or Gears of War anymore because of the violence.
What bothered me was that the same member of Administration was pushing the kids to sign up for  military service right out of high school.
If they are put into active service and sent to war, does she really think that what they will see over there is better than what they are seeing in these games?
Talk about a double standard.
Yes, I think younger kids shouldn't play these type of games, but you would be surprised what the older kids see everyday just going to school.

Thats was an interesting story. Right now they put rating to games. I think rating games does not work, in terms of trying to stop younger kid from playing games that were intended for adults.
