Pats--Brady is out the first game--they are hanging in there, just barely? Is Brady the whole team?

Dallas--Romo is out and since than the team just has not been the same--is Romo the whole Dallas team?

I just don't understand why the teams seem to fall apart when the QB's become injured. Is that what the understudies are for?

A native American, it is said that Thorpe once sat in his own endzone for 8 hours before a game, just staring at the other endzone. When he recieved the kickoff, he ran it back 96 yards for a touchdown. It was called back for a penalty, and on the re-kick, he ran 98 yards for a touchdown. He played during a time when facemasks were unheard of, and they had leather helmets. I think he would tear up today's NFL.

Who is the best team in football?

I have to vote for the New York Giants. One of the saddest facts about professional football history is that the footage from the first Superbowl no longer exists. It was either wiped or lost. I am curious, does anyone know if any footage exists such as old Super 8 film?

Pro Bowl linebacker [link=http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=8427]Shawne Merriman[/link] will forgo knee surgery and play this season for the [link=http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=sdg]San Diego Chargers[/link] despite the fact he has two torn ligaments in his left knee.

"I'm going to play," Merriman texted the San Diego Union-Tribune. "I'll deal with it when it's time to get surgery."

Merriman said Saturday that he has been told by doctors that he could suffer a possible career-ending injury if he attempts to play without having surgery.Merriman said he has tears in both the posterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments. He said doctors agree that he needs surgery to repair the damage.

The Chargers open the regular season Sept. 7 against the [link=http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=car]Carolina Panthers[/link].
Merriman has made the Pro Bowl in each of his three NFL seasons. He has 39½ sacks in that span, more than any other NFL player.
