I have been seeing many people make comments that could be classified as racist comments; many people state that the only reason that they voted for Obama was because he was black. One of the most disturbing was just yesterday when a church group having a lunch function yelled out "Thank god oh mighty we finally got a black president." I live in the South, and have been hearing stuff like everywhere. I hear people act like they worship the president for what he is (his race), rather than what he stands for. If this sort of stuff continues, I know there will be massive seperation within country.

What did you think?

I thought he did great. You could tell the speech wasn't rehearsed but who cares.

I love how he gets up there and makes sure everybody knows he is going to work hard for us but he also needs the Republican's and American people to stand with him. He made it clear that he isn't making any promises but will work as hard as he can to get the job done.

I also like how he made it clear that President Bush is still our President and everybody needs to respect that. I don't like Bush at all--but I do like how Obama respects the fact that he is his President as well.

Not who to vote for because I know I wouldn't vote for McCain. My question is why should I vote for Obama?

After all these months I still do not trust this man. At least with McCain I know what he stands for and I'm not happy with his platform but Obama seems to be hiding something to me. He has his cry of "Change" and tells us what he wants to do but how does he plan on making all these changes? He reminds me of a little boy running for school president in the 6th grade promising the students that he will put soda in the water fountains. He could never do that but the other 6th graders believe him so he's voted in.

How does Obama plan to do everything he plans to do? I don't think he really understands the plight of the common person just by the little things that he says and does. He just talks, telling us what we want to hear.

It's becoming more obvious to me that I probably won't vote next month. I don't like McCain and don't trust Obama. Unless Obama does something to turn me around during the next 20 days I won't be voting this November.

Arnold Schwarzenegger teased Sarah Palin, the former Miss Alaska contestant, the day Sen. John McCain picked her as his running mate, Mr. Schwarzenegger said at the American Magazine Conference in San Francisco on Tuesday.

"That's what's wrong with the Constitution," he said he told her, referring to the citizenship requirement blocking him from the presidency. "Miss Alaska is beating Mr. Universe."

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, with Time's Rick Stengel, gave a thumb's up to Gov. Sarah Palin as GOP VP nominee.

Not a laughing matter?
The audience of magazine executives laughed, but Alaska's governor might not have. "She didn't think it was that funny," Mr. Schwarzenegger said.

In an on-stage interview with Rick Stengel, the managing editor of Time magazine, Mr. Schwarzenegger said people should stop predicting a McCain loss on Nov. 4. "People always count him out at the wrong time," he said. Ms. Palin's executive experience as a mayor and now governor prepared her well to run, he added. "I think that she would be a great vice president," he said.

The governor, a moderate Republican, also defended the reaction of Bush administration officials to the ongoing financial crisis. "All of them have done a terrific job," he said. [link=http://adage.com/mediaworks/article?article_id=131508]House Speaker Nancy Pelosi[/link] was more critical when she opened the conference here on Sunday.

Mr. Schwarzenegger is in no position, however, to antagonize Washington; he warned Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson last week that California may need an emergency loan because of the collapsing credit markets.

'Rely on government'
The government, particularly Congress, contributed to the conditions that triggered the meltdown, but it remains the only hope for stemming the damage, Mr. Schwarzenegger added. "We have to rely on government now to solve the problem," he said.

He frequently charmed the audience, particularly in advocating American action to fight global warming, and earned a standing ovation at the end of the interview. The onetime box-office giant also set off laughter when he remarked on campaign trail dynamics, accidentally reminding the crowd of his role in "The Terminator."

"As you know, it's such a difference between when we have a normal discussion about something or when you are on the campaign trail," he said. "You sometimes end up talking like a machine."

Obama crushes McCain in Debate

No one can deny that Obama schooled the old man. The Texas House of Representatives is the lower house of the Texas Legislature. The House comprises of 150 members from an equal amount of districts across the state, with each constituency consisting of nearly 140,000 people.

The Texas legislature has held 80 sessions so far. The Eightieth Texas Legislature met in regular session beginning 9 January 2007. All members of the House of Representatives and 16 members of the Senate were up for election on 7 November 2006 in the Texas Legislature election.

Vicki Truitt representing District 98, is the Chairman of Budget and Oversight for the House Committee on Public Health, and sits on the powerful Appropriations Committee. She is the Vice-Chairman and one of only five House members serving on the influential Sunset Advisory Commission. As the Vice-Chair, she leads Sunset activities in the House. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Texas Office for Prevention of Developmental Disabilities. The representative has a strong grass root support and is endorsed by federal, state and local officials alike.
Anyway, if you hear of Nader coming to speak in your area, go listen to him. You will most likely learn a few things about our government and the political parties that will make you pretty angry. Before him I never knew how truly backwards and corrupt Pennsylvania (and Philadelphia) government is.
